I’m currently reading Love is a Verb: How to Stop Analyzing your Relationship and Start Making it Great by Bill O’Hanlon and Pat Hudson. The title of the first chapter made me chuckle: The Codependent Cinderella Who Loves A Man Who Hates Women Too Much.
There is nothing wrong with thinking about our relationships, discussing our relationships, or trying to make our relationships better. But spending a lot of time figuring out why that big rock is in the stream doesn’t help us patch the hole in the canoe and paddle home. Analyzing, while undoubtedly interesting, tends to take our focus away from the more critical activity of asking “And now what?”
And on the Kindle is George R.R. Martin’s A Storm of Swords: A Song of Ice and Fire (Book Three of what appears to be a series of about 700). Great fun, in a never-ending-war-of ambition-and-betrayal sort of way.
